Cuttack: Four persons were injured in a vehicle pile up, involving 4 cars and a mini truck, on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Setu in Odisha’s Cuttack on Friday afternoon.
According to sources, the rear-end accident occurred when a speeding car suddenly applied brakes on the 2.81-km bridge across the Kathajodi, connecting the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. The airbag of one of the four-wheelers exploded under the collision. While the vehicles were also damaged in the accident, the injured have been admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital here for treatment.
Police have reached the accident site and efforts are being made to remove the damaged vehicles to allow free flow of traffic on the bridge, the sources added.
