Bhubaneswar: The daily infection rate continued its rapid stride as 4 places in the capital city reported more than 100 patients in 24 hours.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), the daily caseload crossed 100 in Khandagiri, Nayapalli, Chandrasekharpur and Patia areas of the city.
As many as 1233 COVID positive cases were reported from 9 am of Friday to 9 am of Saturday against 1148 in previous 24 hours ending at 9 am on Friday, 1055 on Thursday, 803 on Wednesday, 710 on Tuesday, 619 cases on Monday and 574 cases on Sunday.
Of the total new cases, 1204 patients are local contacts while 29 are from quarantine.
Of the local contact cases, the highest 155 cases are from Khandagiri which had reported 99 cases in previous period. It was followed by 119 from Patia, 113 from Chandrasekharpur and 104 from Nayapalli.
As many as 416 patients recovered from the disease while there was no casualty during the period.
The active cases went up to 7,309 while total 1,32,215 people have been infected by the virus so far.
