Berhampur: A four-year-old girl was found dead in an under-construction Anganwadi centre under Patpur police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Saturday.
According to sources, the girl went missing the previous evening from her maternal uncle’s house at Khallingi village, where she had gone to participate in ‘Thakurani Yatra’. The family members had also lodged the complaint with police.
This morning, locals spotted the body and informed police, which then sent it to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for postmortem. It is being suspected that the child was murdered after being sexually abused.
