Bhubaneswar: Out of more than 2.24 lakh people, who have been administered COVID-19 vaccine in the country, 447 have reported adverse effects with three of them admitted to hospitals, said Union Health Ministry on Sunday.
Out of the 3 hospitalised persons, two have already been discharged while one is admitted at AIIMS Rishikesh and is doing fine.
“A total of 447 adverse events following immunisation (AEFI) have been reported so far. Of those, only three cases required hospitalisation,” Manohar Agnani, a senior health ministry official said. Most of the adverse events were minor cases of fever, headache and nausea, he added.
“Today being Sunday, only six states conducted vaccination drive and total 17,072 beneficiaries were vaccinated in 553 sessions,” he said.
In Delhi, 52 adverse reactions were observed. Out of these, one was deemed serious by doctors while others have been discharged.
