62% Of New COVID Cases Reported From Odisha’s Twin Cities
Bhubaneswar: Friday saw a marginal fall in the daily COVID caseload in Odisha, but the figures for the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack continues to be a concern.
According to the I & PR department, 524 more people, including 250 from Khurda and 75 from Cuttack, have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. And this is for the third consecutive day that the state has seen over 500 new cases after 582 on Thursday and 593 on Wednesday
Among them, 75 (14.31%).are children below 18 years of age.
While 306 of the new cases are from quarantine, 218 are local contacts. Six districts reported nil cases.

- Malkangiri: 1
- Mayurbhanj: 22
- Nayagarh: 3
- Nuapada: 1
- Puri: 13
- Rayagada: 2
- Sambalpur: 8
- Sundargarh: 11
Besides, 58 are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 66,724 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.78%. The TPR was 0.75% on Thursday, 0.82% on Wednesday, and 0.77% on Tuesday.
While the affected tally in the state has touched 1030518, Odisha now has 5,111 active cases.
