65 Secretariat Staff Deployed At Bhubaneswar Civic Body On COVID-19 Duty

Bhubaneswar: The Home department has deputed 64 employees of the state Secretariat to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on COVID-19 duty.

The department has asked 50 Assistant Section Officers (ASO) and 15 data entry operators (DEOs) to join duty at the civic body’s COVID-19 Control Room till September 19, according to a notification issued on Saturday. The officials and DEOs from the Odisha Secretarial Service (OSS) cadre were selected from 26 departments.

Employees from various departments are already on the job of COVID-19 management and control in BMC at the Central office and three administrative zones.

In the Health team, there are 11 public health managers, 22 data assistants, 186 ASHA workers, 360 AWW, 84 Heath Workers, 26 Medical Officers.

At the Central Office of BMC, three officials have been engaged in cremation management, while Additional District Public Health Officer and City Health Officer are supervising health-care related matters. For the management of airport returnees, an officer of Deputy Secretary rank and another ORS officer are engaged.

Similarly, one Additional Commissioner rank officer and one Deputy Commissioner rank officer from BDA, one supervising employee and one data entry operator from Tehsil office, six experts from Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) have been deployed. Laboratory technicians from Capital Hospital and RMRC are also engaged.
