Cuttack: At least 66 coronavirus positive cases have been detected in two hospitals in Cuttack city.
While 55 people were found infected in Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer, 11 positive cases were reported from SCB Medical College and Hospital here, District Information & Public Relations Office, Cuttack, said on Thursday.
Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani later informed that 13 among them are cancer patients, 36 attendant and one staff nurse.
Earlier, two nurses, five patients, an attendant and a staffer of the Aahaar Centre inside AHRCC premises were found infected.

On July 1, six persons linked with a previous positive case of the cancer hospital were found to have contracted the virus.

The first COVID-19 case was detected in the hospital on June 24 when a patient from Ganjam district admitted to the emergency ward on June 19 tested corona positive.

A doctor working as an intern with SCB Dental College and a healthcare worker of the hospital had earlier contracted COVID-19.
