Bhubaneswar: Even as the COVID-19 caseload in Odisha has shown a declining trend, the number of deaths remains a matter of concern.

The Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department informed on Thursday that 67 patients have succumbed to the virus, taking the state’s toll to 5,308.

The department, however, clarified that the list of deaths does not reflect the fatalities occurring on a particular day. Rather, it gives the details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been completed and the cause of death has been identified as COVID-19.

Among the new deaths reported from 13 districts, Khurda topped the chart with 20 fatalities (including 13 from Bhubaneswar).
