8-Ft Python Rescued From Abandoned House Near Berhampur
Berhampur: A huge python was rescued from an abandoned house on the outskirts of Odisha’s Berhampur city late Tuesday night.
Some locals of Baurisahi in Hinjalapalli on the outskirts of the city found a snake entering the house and informed the officials of Berhampur forest range over phone. The Forest officials contacted Snake Helpline and sought help to rescue the snake.
Swadhin Sahu, a member of the Snake Helpline along with Forest official Kapileswar Das went to Baurisahi. With the help of local people, they traced the snake and rescued it. They identified it as Indian Python and on measurement, its length was found to be 8 ft.
Later, on the instruction of Berhampur Forest Ranger Rajat Kumar Mishra, Swadhin and Kapileswar released the snake in a natural habitation of a forest.
