Over 85K Plus II Seats Vacant After Spot Admission In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The admission in Plus II streams for 2018-19 academic session in Odisha has thrown up a disturbing trend with 85,767 seats falling vacant.

Sources in the School and Mass Education department said that these seats are lying vacant in about 2000 higher secondary schools after spot admission.

As more than one lakh seats had fallen vacant after the first and second phase admission, the department, in a notification on August 1, had asked the students to apply for spot admission. While the merit list for the spot admission was announced on August 10, the admission was held between August 11 and 14.

Regular Plus II classes started on July 24.
