End Of The Road For Thunderbird 500, Bullet 500?

Royal Enfield has removed most of its 500 series of motorcycles from its website. First to go is the Bullet 500, followed by Thunderbird and Thunderbird 500X. The Classic 500 is expected to follow suit.

The main reason for the discontinuation could be low sales followed by BS6 compatibility. Royal Enfield sold 36,093 units of the 500 series during 2019, while the 350 range accounted for 7.64 lakh units. The 650 range has strong export demand, reports suggest.

Royal Enfield is reportedly developing new advanced engines for its 500 series, which is expected to debut in the new Thunderbird.

Currently, the historic motorcycle maker has engines in the 350cc and the 650cc segments.

The Himalayan has been updated with its 400cc engine, which means it won’t be discontinued for now.
