Brewing Cyclonic Storm Lies 1100 Km Off Odisha Coast: IMD
Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the low-pressure over south-east Bay of Bengal has concentrated into a depression and is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by 5.30 PM on Saturday and into a very severe cyclonic storm during the subsequent 24 hours.
It is likely to move towards West Bengal coast during May 18-20.
The cyclonic system is currently centered around 1100 km south of Paradip, 1250 km south of Digha and 1330 km south-southwest of Khepupara, Bangladesh.
According to the IMD, the storm is very likely to move north-northwestwards initially till May 17 and then re-curve north-northeastwards across northwest Bay of Bengal towards West Bengal coast during May 18 to 20.
