Door-To-Door Thermal Screening Begins In Corona Hotspot Ganjam
Berhampur: The Ganjam administration on Monday the started door-to-door thermal screening drive. More than 3.5 lakh families will be covered under this campaign, which will continue till June 12.
According to the sources, the Gram Panchayats has been divided into units having 700 households and each unit assigned to a team comprising local teacher/AWW/Health Worker/ANM. The team will visit each household of the specified area and conduct thermal screening of each individual/ member and fill up information in an enclosed format.
If any symptomatic person is found during health screening, the information will be immediately transmitted to the concerned RRT. The same day, the concerned RRT will visit the house of symptomatic person and undertake detailed medical check-up of all the members of the family. A person found with COVID-19 symptoms would then be referred to the nearest COVID Care Centre with a detailed referral note.
Once the symptomatic suspect case is referred to COVID Care Centre, the Nodal Medical Officer will conduct a thorough check-up of the person and report the findings to the office of the CDM and PHO, Ganjam, a notification issued on Sunday said.

After successfully keeping the virus at bay with strict measures in April, Ganjam reported its maiden case on May 2 after two Surat returnees tested positive for the virus. The return of migrants has since then led to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the district.
Ganjam is now Odisha’s corona hotspot with 631 positive cases, 33 among them were found to have contracted the virus on Monday.
On June 6, the entire staff of Jarada Police Station in the district was sent into quarantine after two murder accused tested positive for COVID-19.
