Bhubaneswar: Isolated heavy rain lashed the north interior and coastal districts of Odisha on Sunday under the influence of cyclonic circulation.
While Sundargarh recorded the maximum rainfall of 158 mm, Jharsuguda had 95.2 mm followed by Cuttack (49), Sambalpur (43.6), Paralakhemundi (34), Keonjhar (33.2), Paradip (21.4), Bhubaneswar (20.2), Chandbali (12.2), Hirakud (11), Balangir (11), Angul (10), Daringbadi (10), Talcher (7), Puri (6.6) and Gopalpur (5.7).
In a mid-day bulletin, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that as a monsoon trough from northwest Rajasthan to north interior Odisha runs from northwest Rajasthan to coastal Odisha, there will be heavy rainfall at one or two places across the state till next five days up to June 18.
In view of the heavy rainfall warning, IMD has issued yellow warning for the following districts.
June 14
Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Balasore, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj.
June 15
Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur.
June 16
Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Balangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur and Keonjhar.
June 17
Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur and Cuttack.
June 18
Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sambalpur and Angul.
