Unlock 2.0: Odisha CM Suggests The Way Forward In Fight Against COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday spelt out a nine-point mantra to tackle COVID-19 in the month July.

At a meeting with district collectors and SPs via video conferencing, he stressed the need for creating COVID Care Committees at gram panchayats (GPs) level and providing them with funds, training, more power and assistance.

COVID Care Home should be set up in every GP, temporary medical camp and cluster GP, he said.

The CM also directed officials to take care of corona warriors. “They are running the extra mile to save people. They should be sensitized on protecting themselves,” he said.

Naveen said that he had been speaking to infected COVID-19 warriors and taking feedback from them. “So far the feedback has been good. I would like the senior officials to do the same. It will motivate them in a great way,” he said.

The CM further said that government offices should be zero-infected zone. “Sensitise the staff on dos and don’ts. We should be strict in protecting our institutions. Every head of an office will be made responsible for it,” he said.

Police and the district administration have been asked to show zero tolerance to mask and social distancing norm violators. “We are three months into the pandemic and now, we should be tough on those violating the norms,” he said.

The CM also directed the collectors to devise special strategies for hotspots in their districts. “Every department of the state government must be actively involved in the war against COVID-19. We are doing very well as of now and I am sure we will continue with this good work,” he added.
