Request Rejected: Rhea Chakraborty Reaches Enforcement Directorate In Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case
New Delhi/Mumbai: Rhea Chakraborty, whose plea seeking postponement of her recording the statement till her Supreme Court plea hearing was rejected, appeared at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at the scheduled time, 11.30 am today.
“Rhea Chakraborty is a law-abiding citizen. In view of the fact that ED has informed the media that the request to postpone the attendance is rejected, she has appeared in the ED at the appointed time and date,” her counsel, Satish Maneshinde was quoted as saying by the media.
The Enforcement Directorate, the agency that investigates financial crimes had rejected her request and said it would wait for her till 11.30 am this morning and put out fresh summons if she didn’t show up, NDTV reported.
The agency is acting on the basis of an FIR by Bihar Police on a complaint by Sushant Singh Rajput’s family. Accordingly, Rhea Chakraborty was supposed to appear in Mumbai for questioning in a Rs 15 crore money laundering case, the report added.
Money from two of the four bank accounts belonging to Sushant Singh Rajput was transferred to Rhea Chakraborty. But the amount is nowhere close to the alleged Rs 15 crore, NDTV reported sources in the agency as saying.
