Lalu Yadav Smells Conspiracy In Transfer From AIIMS Delhi

New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav alleged ‘political conspiracy’ behind shifting him from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi.

“This is unjust, it is a conspiracy to deteriorate my health. I am being shifted to a place where there are no facilities. It is a tough time, but I will face it,” Lalu told media after being discharged from AIIMS, Delhi.

Lalu, who was convicted in the fodder scam case, has been serving the prison term in Birsa Munda Jail in Ranchi since last December. He was admitted to RIMS on March 16, after he complained of discomfort. Later, the RJD leader was referred to AIIMS by RIMS doctors, due to high sugar levels and some renal problems.

Lalu was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi, on March 29, and kept in a VIP room of the hospital. He had written a letter to AIIMS Director to allow him to continue his treatment in the hospital. But, he was today referred back to RIMS, Ranchi.

“Lalu Prasad was referred from Ranchi Medical College to AIIMS for management of his acute medical condition. He has improved significantly and as per advise of the medical board constituted for his treatment, he is being referred back to Ranchi Medical College for management of his chronic issues. He is currently stable and is fit to travel,” the hospital said in a statement.
