Rayagada: Incessant rainfall has triggered a flood-like situation in Kalyansinghpur block of Rayagada district.
With water overflowing from Nagabali and Kalyani rivers inundating around 30 villages in the block, the district administration authorities evacuated people from low-lying areas. They were shifted to safer places, including the tehsildar’s office.
“Electricity has been disrupted in most villages. Road communication between Rayagada and Bhawanipatna is non-existent with all bridges in the area under 5 feet of water. We have sought the help of CRPF personnel to intensify the rescue operations,” a district official informed.
