UG First-Year Students In Odisha To Have Classes In Online Mode

Bhubaneswar: Online classes for first-year under-graduate (UG) students in Odisha will begin on March 1.

In a letter to vice-chancellors and principals of all universities and degree colleges, principal secretary, Higher Education Saswat Mishra said that it may not be possible to have physical classes for UG first-year students amid the COVID-19 resurgence fear.

Stating that they would heavily lose on the academic front if teaching for them is not started immediately, Mishra advised the authorities to start classes in online mode from March 1.

Mishra also asked the vice-chancellors and the principals to follow the guidelines issued by the department on June 6 last year for covering the syllabus.

Notably, final-year UG and PG courses have been attanding physical classes since January 11 and PG first-year and UG second-year students since February 10.
