IMD Issues Heat Wave Warning For Bhubaneswar & Eight Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar: With the day temperature gradually shooting up in most places of Odisha over the last three days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday said that heat wave condition will prevail in eight districts of the state, including the capital city, for the next three days.

The IMD, in a mid-day bulletin, said that the maximum day temperature will remain 3-4 degrees Celsius above normal at many places during next 3-4 days, though there will be no large change in the minimum night temperature during next 4-5 days.

The national weather agency said that the heat wave condition will prevail at some places in districts of Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Balasore, Angul, Mayurbhanj, including Bhubaneswar, over next 2-3 days. Day temperature will go up by about 5 degrees.

In view of the steep rise in the day temperature, IMD has advised people to take precautionary measures while going out between 11 am and 3 pm.

Notably, Bhubaneswar had recorded 40.4 degrees Celsius on Friday.
