Bhubaneswar: The depression over Northeast and adjoining West-central Bay of Bengal moved westwards with a speed of 17 kmph in last 6 hours and lay centered at 11.30 hrs, over northwest and
adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal.
It lay about 410 km east-southeast of Gopalpur (Odisha) and 480 km east-northeast of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh). It is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm during next 6 hours and move nearly westwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha coasts between Kalingapatnam and Gopalpur by September 26 evening.
The IMD has issued a Yellow Warning of heavy rainfall for the districts of Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Ganjam,
Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Cuttack till Sunday morning.

Red warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to lash the districts of Kandhamal, Ganjam, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput,
Nabarangpur and Gajapati from September 26 to 27 morning under the influence of the cyclonic storm.

The districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh and Kalahandi are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places during the period under the impact of the cyclone.
Yellow Warning indicating heavy rainfall has been issued for the next day for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir and Nuapada.
