New Delhi: India will resume regular international flights from the third week of December, most likely 15th of next month.
However, the regular services won’t include some high-risk countries, reported ANI.
Based on the countries recognised as ‘at-risk’ by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the barred have been placed in 3 categories with separate capacity restrictions, the Civil Aviation ministry said.
Besides South Africa, where a new variant of coronavirus has been detected, 13 other countries are on the restricted list. According to a report in the Hindustan Times, these countries are UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Finland, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and Singapore.
However, India’s travel-bubble arrangement with some of these countries – which permits a certain number of flights per week to be operated — will continue.
Regular international flights were suspended in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The government started Vande Bharat flights to bring back Indians who were stuck in other countries.
