[Watch] Cuttack Youth Enters Guinness World Records With 6-Cm Pattachitra Of Lord Jagannath

Cuttack: Pravat Sahoo has done Odia proud by finding a place in the Guinness World Records for doing a Pattachitra on a 6-cm stone.

Pravat, a resident of Matha Sahi in Cuttack’s Chauliaganj, has done the smallest painting of Gajanana Besha of Lord Jagannath on the stone.

Artists from different countries participated in the contest, which was telecast live through International Book of Records.

Pravat was also selected as officer of International Book Of Records.

A Bhubaneswar artist had earlier made a painting of Lord Jagannath on a 9-cm stone.

Pravat, the son of Prabir and Sabita Sahoo, developed a passion for painting from his childhood.

“The contest, organized by International Book Of Records, was held online. I got this award for the miniature art. The stone on which I made the Pattachitra was 6 cm in height and 3.5 cm in width, informed Pravat whose aim is to take the art, culture and tradition of Odisha to international platforms through his paintings.

Pravath, who did his graduation from Cuttack JKBK College in Arts, has received awards for paintings on subjects like nature, several legendary freedom fighters, etc.

His parents on cloud nine after Pravat’s recognition by Guinsess World Records.

“His hobby was painting since his school days. He used to paint everywhere, including walls and boundary of the house. We always supported him to fulfill his passion,” said his mother Sabita.
