Sources in the Orissa High Court said that Justice Jhaveri will be administered the oath of secrecy by the Governor of Odisha, Ganeshi Lal once Raj Bhawan finalises the date.

The Supreme Court Collegium on July 20, had recommended the appointment of Justice Jhaveri as the new Chief Justice of Orissa High Court and Justice Vineet Saran for elevation to the apex court.

“Justice KS Jhaveri is senior judge from the Gujarat High Court and has been functioning on transfer in the Rajasthan High Court. Considering all the relevant factors, the Collegium finds Justice KS Jhaveri suitable in all respects for being appointed as Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court and recommends that he be appointed as Chief Justice of that High Court,” the Collegium had said in its resolution.

Justice Vineet Saran was appointed as a judge of the Allahabad High Court on February 16, 2015. He was elevated as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on February 26, 2016.
