Security Forces Bust Maoist Camp In Odisha’s Nuapada

Nuapada: Police and security forces busted a Maoist camp and recovered materials of daily use in Odisha’s Nuapada district.

Nuapada Police had received information from reliable sources about the camp of the Maoists in large number in dense forest area near on Odisha-Chhattisgarh border of Patdhara reserve forest under Boden police limits. The sources informed the police that the Maoists had gathered to plan strategies against anti security forces and carry out subversive activities.

Acting on the inputs, combined security forces of SOG, DVF and CRPF launched an anti-Maoist operation on Wednesday. While the SOG commandos were conducting search operation in the forest area at around 10.10 am on Thursday, 60-80 armed Maoists led by Murli alias Sangram Reddy, Debji, Jayaram alias Chhalpati, Kartik alias Dashru, Jayaram alias Guddu, Anju alias Padma, Sangita, Janila, Parvati, Soni and others opened indiscriminate fire at the security forces.

The security forces returned fire in self-defense and the Maoists fled the area after heavy exchange of fire. Later, the security personnel recovered several camp materials from the spot. Those included an air gun, battery, Baofeng Walkie talkie set, 4 radios, Bluetooth speaker, 4 solar plates, 11 knives, wire bundles, sewing machine, Maoist  uniforms, medicines, pregnancy test kits, and Maoist literature.
