Berhampur: Another professor of Odisha’s Berhampur University faces harassment allegation by a girl student.
Speaking to media persons in Berhampur on Tuesday, the girl said the professor of History department of the university had instructed the girl students to remain in the department’s library till 8 pm. He threatened them that if they failed to follow the instruction, he would cut their marks in the examination and they have to appear for back paper.
The girl further said she along with other students of the department had sent a written letter to the chancellor of the university pointing out the harassment of the professor on July 4.
The chancellor’s office had forwarded the letter to the university’s PG Council with direction to take suitable action. But the university authorities have failed to initiate any step against the professor till date, the student alleged.
It may be noted that a professor of English department and another of Odia department faced harassment allegation by the students earlier. The police had also arrested the Odia professor for allegedly making obscene gestures after an FIR was lodged by a girl student.
