Amul, Mother Dairy Hike Milk Prices; Check New Rates

Bhubaneswar: Leading milk suppliers – Mother Dairy and Amul – have increased the prices by Rs 2 per litre from Wednesday. This is being attributed to a rise in procurement and other input costs.

This is the second hike in six months by both brands.

The new prices will be applicable for all milk variants of Mother Dairy:

  • Full cream milk: Rs 61/ litre
  • Toned milk: Rs 51/litre
  • Double toned: Rs 45/litre
  • Cow milk price: Rs 53/litre.
  • Bulk vended milk (token milk): Rs 48

“In Gujarat, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, West Bengal, its Taza milk of 500 ml will cost Rs 25, Shakti 500 ml pouch Rs 28 and Gold Rs 31. Rs 2 per litre is increased for three ranges of milk,” The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells milk and other dairy products under the Amul brand, said in a statement on Tuesday.

The hike is just a four per cent increase in price and lower than prevailing food inflation. “80 paise from each rupee recovered from its customers is passed on to farmers/pastoralists,” it added.

The new rates for milk variants of Amul are as follows:

  • Amul Gold: Rs 31 for 500 ml
  • Amul Taaza: Rs 25 for 500 ml
  • Amul Shakti: Rs 28 for 500ml
