Hockey World Cup: Bhubaneswar DCP Inspects Hotels For Stay Of Teams
Bhubaneswar: As part of its preparation for FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup, the Commissionerate Police of twin cities in Odisha carried out inspection of the hotels in Bhubaneswar where the players and team ofiicials would stay during the tournament.
A team of police personnel led by Bhubaneswar DCP Pratik Singh visited star hotels at 9 different places in the capital city to verify the security arrangements for safe stay of the hockey players of the teams coming from different countries to participate in the World Cup. The hotels that the DCP visited included Hotel Mayfair, Sandy Tower and Swosti Grand in the city.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the visit, Singh said total 18 platoons of police force with 2 platoons in each hotel would be deployed throughout the tournament. The police force under supervision of two inspectors and a DSP rank officer would look after the security of the team members in each hotel, he added.
During the inspection, the police checked the facilities in the rooms, functioning of CCTV cameras and security systems in the hotels. The Commissionerate Police will set up a temporary camp to monitor the security in each hotel, he added.
