Odisha Pacer Basant Mohanty Joins 400 Wickets Club
Bhubaneswar: Seasoned seamer Basant Mohanty has become the second bowler from Odisha after Debasis Mohanty, the first player from the state to represent India in international matches besides playing the world cup, to complete 400 wickets in first-class cricket.
Basant attained this milestone while playing his 104th Ranji Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium, Himachal Pradesh, on Friday by picking the wicket of AP Vashisht. He bagged 3 wickets, including 2 in an over.

He is currently 13th on the list of highest wicket-takers in Ranji Trophy history.
Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) president Pranab Prakash Das and secretary Sanjay Behera (Secretary) have congratulated him on achieving this feat and wished him well for the remaining two Ranji Trophy matches this season.
The 36-year-old made his debut for Odisha in 2007 and has played 103 first-class matches with an average of 20.97. He has also played in 31 List A matches and 21 T20 matches for the state, scalping 63 wickets.
