Ha! Ha! Our Very Own Charpai Is Being Sold Online By A US Company For Over $1,200

New Delhi: India’s humble charpai has become a coveted item on an American e-commerce site.

A desi Twitterati came up with an American e-commerce site, Etsy, and it is selling the Indian charpai or khatiya, for over $1200 (Rs 1 lakh).

The e-commerce site has described the charpai as a “traditional Indian bed with very beautiful decor.” And in the highlights section, the portal described the product as homemade, made of materials like wood and jute ropes, and coming from a small business in India.
