Student Kills Classmate At UP University; CCTV Footage Reveals Chilling Details
Noida: A gory crime within the premises of a private university has shocked the country.
A student of Shiv Nadar University, located in UP’s Noida, allegedly killed his female classmate before shooting himself dead at the boys’ hostel.
Both were third-year students of BA Sociology, according to police.
“Around 1.30 pm on Thursday, the administrative officials of Shiv Nadar University alerted the police that a woman student was shot dead by her classmate outside the dining hall on the university campus. The woman student, identified as Sneha Chaurasia, who hailed from Kanpur, was immediately rushed to Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida where she was declared brought dead,” said SM Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Greater Noida.
CCTV footage of the incident, which has found its way into social media, shows the duo talking to each other before the accused — identified as Anuj Singh — shoots the woman.
The footage is available from the dining hall, which is located between the girls’ and boys’ hostels. Though the hall was locked, it had glass doors.
The students met outside the dining hall and were seen hugging and talking to each other.
The male student wanted to give the woman something, which the latter refused. The man then shot her in the abdomen. She tried to fight the man, who shot her again and she collapsed.
The man then ran towards the boys’ hostel.
