Cuttack: A week after the horrific train accident at Bahanaga Bazar in Odisha’s Balasore, 111 passengers from various states, including West Bengal, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha, are still undergoing treatment in various departments of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Among them, 2o are in ICUs. “While 9 are undergoing treatment at Central ICU and 8 are in trauma ICU. Their condition is stable. Identity of one passenger in ICU has been ascertained,” SCB administrator Abhinash Rout told a local channel.
He further informed that 23 among the 111 are from Odisha, 32 from Bihar, 45 from West Bengal, 7 from Jharkhand and one each from Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Nepal. They are undergoing treatment at Surgery, Orthopaedics, Plastic surgery and other departments of SCB.
According to Rout, 63 passengers have also undergone surgeries at the state-run hospital. “All efforts are on to provide best treatment to the injured passengers,” he added.
