Odisha: Morning Traffic Crawls As Fog Reduces Visibility To 20 Metres In Khurda, Dhenkanal
Bhubaneswar: Low visibility owing to very dense fog brought traffic to a crawl in Khurda, Dhenkanal and Chandbali in Bhadrak district of Odisha, where visibility level was reduced to 20-40 metres, on Wednesday morning.
Thick blanket of fog also engulfed twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, lowering visibility to 50 and 100 metres, respectively. Dense fog also shrouded vision in Kendrapada, Rourkela and Angul. Moderate fog was seen in Puri, Gopalpur, Jagatsinghpur, Bhawanipatna and Paradip while shallow fog wrapped Keonjhar and Jharsuguda, according to Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.

Notably, the MeT office had issued yellow warning of dense fog for one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Balangir.
The warning continues for another 24 hours and dense fog is likely to occur at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, and Koraput till 8.30 am on Thursday.
The night temperature is likely to drop by 2-3 degree Celsius after 2 days, it added.
