Night Temp To Dip In Odisha’s Twin Cities Of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack; Dense Fog Alert Continues

Bhubaneswar: The night temperature in Odisha capital is likely drop to 15 degree Celsius during the next 24 hours, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre informed on Saturday.

The city had recorded 18.2 degree Celsius, 2.8 degrees above normal, this morning.

Cuttack, which had recorded 16.6 degree Celsius, is also likely to experience a dip in the minimum temperature with the mercury plummeting to 14 degree Celsius over next two days.

Notably, Koraput was the coldest place in Odisha at 8.8 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours, followed by Kirei (Sundargarh) at 9.5 degree Celsius, and G Udayagiri (Kandhamal) at 10.2 degree Celsius. Dense fog was also seen at Cuttack, Sonepur and Phulbani and shallow to moderate fog at Angul, Bhawanipatna, Keonjhar and Rourkela.

The weather agency has issued yellow warning of dense fog for one or two places in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, and Cuttack districts till 8.30 am on Sunday. Shallow to moderate fog is likely at a few places in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Cuttack and at one or two places in remaining districts of the state during this period.

Shallow to moderate fog may also occur at one or two places across the state during the subsequent 48 hours.

There is also a forecast for light rain at some places in Odisha from January 17.

Light rain is likely at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh,Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur

JAN 19

Light rain may occur at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur

The MeT office further said that there will be no large change in the minimum temperature across the state during the next 4-5 days.
