Why The Eternal On-Screen Lover Shah Rukh Khan Loves Working With Women
New Delhi: On the sidelines of the Locarno Film Festival where Shah Rukh Khan was honoured, the superstar opened up about his career in an expansive interview. During the hour-long interaction, SRK opened up about the origin of his signature pose, making cinema with women and more.
Asked how the famous ‘arms’ pose was created, Shah Rukh smiled and got up to demonstrate the ‘dip’, a dance move where one needs to bend a leg and hop a little with the other: “Back in the day, we used to do what is called a ‘dip’, as a part of the choreography, and I tried very hard to do it for a dance I had to do, but on the day, I was told that I looked bad doing that and this choreographer asked me to stretch my arms instead, it is really nothing more.”
The actor also spoke about collaborating with women and said that he prefers doing his work with them as they are more ‘sensitive’ and ‘smell better,’ India Today reported.
“I do find that having worked a lot with women, as actors, directors and producers, I do find them more sensitive and nuanced. Men compartmentalise their feelings. Women are more overarching. They also, to be honest, make the films look nicer. I don’t want it to sound inappropriate, they do smell better. They have shampooed, they laugh more and Farah Khan especially, she used to feed us very well, and she has got a great sense of humour. Plus, I am more in touch with my feminine side. I am not too much into guns and action and all that,” Shah Rukh Khan concluded.
SRK was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. He has also confirmed Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘King,’ in which he will share screen space with his daughter Suhana for the first time.
