Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC) on Friday invited applications for 7,268 posts under Combined Uniformed Services (Below Graduate Level) Examination, 2026.
The recruitment covers positions including Constable (Civil), Constable (Communication), Constable (OISF), Firefighter, Firefighting Driver, Driver PMT and Traffic Constable in the police and fire services.
This marks the first time aspirants can apply for multiple uniformed roles through a single examination and application process, simplifying what previously required separate notifications and tests for different posts. The drive forms part of the state government’s broader efforts to fill vacancies in uniformed services via the dedicated OUSSSC, established to enhance transparency and efficiency following earlier recruitment irregularities. The commission is headed by Chairman Rashmi Ranjan Swain, a retired IPS officer and former Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir.
Eligible candidates are advised to visit the official website, ousssc.odisha.gov.in, for complete details on vacancies, eligibility criteria (typically 10th or 12th pass depending on the post), age limits, physical standards, examination procedures, and the schedule for online registration and application submission.
The selection process is expected to include written tests, physical measurements, efficiency tests and medical examinations, consistent with standard requirements for such roles.
