Mumbai: The knife attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai residence during a burglary attempt had sent shockwaves across the country.
Reflecting upon the unfortunate incident, Saif during an interview with ETimes said that it was not his time to go as he is meant to do a few more good films.
“My takeaway is that you must lock doors and be careful. We have a lot, and a lot do not. So while I am grateful, we must understand that and be careful. Lock things. Block access points. And smarten up security. It’s sad. I never believed in security. Hate to have people around me, but it needs to be there, for a while at least, I guess,” Saif said while talking about what he learnt from the traumatic incident.
He added, “It wasn’t my time to go. Maybe I’m meant to do a few more good films… have some more nice times with family and friends. Do some more charity!”
Saif sustained multiple stab wounds in the knife attack and had to undergo multiple surgeries to remove a piece of the sharp object which had landed close to his spine.
Following the attack, Saif hired Ronit Roy’s security firm to ensure his family’s safety.
On the work front, Saif will be next seen in the Netflix thriller ‘Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins’, starting April 25.
Directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal and produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under the Marflix banner, the film will feature Saif in a new avatar.
