Srinagar: Within hours of India and Pakistan agreeing to stop all firing and military action on land, in the air and sea with effect from 5 pm on Saturday, there were reports of Pakistan violating the ceasefire near the border.
Heavy Pakistani shelling was heard in parts of Jammu & Kashmir’s in Akhnoor, Rajouri and RS Pura sectors near the International Border.
Multiple explosions were heard in Srinagar, with J & K chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeting, “What the hell just happened to the ceasefire? Explosions heard across Srinagar!!!”
There were reports of blasts in Baramulla also, with a drone being neutralised there.
Ceasefire violations are taking place in Palanwalla sector of Jammu also.
Udhampur went dark for the fourth straight night following shelling.
