Bhubaneswar: The state government has decided to set up a second traffic police station at Chandrasekharpur here in view of the rising number of vehicles in the state capital, twin cities Police Commissioner Y B Khurania said on Saturday.
“It has been decided to convert the traffic unit at Chandrasekharpur into a police station. Eight police stations in the state capital will come under its jurisdiction. A sum of Rs 1.91 crore will be invested on the new police station, which will be manned by 170 police personnel,” he said.
The government will provide 15 motorcycles and two jeeps for police personnel at the new police station, he added.
At present, one traffic police station is functioning in Bhubaneswar and another in Cuttack.
