Jharsuguda: In a continued effort to promote community health under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited (OPGC) recently conducted a health check-up camp at Piplikani gram panchayat in Lakhanpur block of Jharsuguda district.
Sarpanch Srikant Deheria inaugurated the camp in presence of Chief Medical Officer along with doctors and staff of IB Thermal Hospital. The patients were examined by doctors of IB Thermal Hospital and specialists from Sambalpur and Jharsuguda – Dr Balaram Khamari (medicine) and Dr Baikunathnath Kashyap (paediatrician).
A total of 234 patients received free consultations and medicines during the event. The beneficiaries included 74 males, 134 females, and 26 children, hailing from nearby villages such as Piplikani, Bhejikud, Bejibandh, Padapali, Dengsargi, Khuntbandh, Solpali, Ainlapali, Khamardihi, Kumarbandh, and Batlaga.
Patients were screened and treated for a range of common health issues, including diabetes, hypertension, arthralgia (joint pain), melasma, general weakness, dermatitis, pyrexia (fever), acute peptic diseases, knee pain, acute gastritis, refractive errors, anorexia, and other related conditions.
The initiative was coordinated by a joint team from IB Thermal Hospital and OPGC’s CSR department.
