Islamabad: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Sunday ahead of a quadrilateral summit with Saudi Arabia’s Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, focusing on West Asia tensions and peace initiatives, PTI reported.
The visiting ministers arrived at Dar’s invitation, with Prince Faisal scheduled to land later in the day, the Foreign Office (FO) noted.
Dar and Abdelatty reviewed the current situation in West Asia, underscoring the need for restraint, de escalation and dialogue to resolve regional disputes.
They voiced satisfaction over progress in defence and security cooperation, while stressing that military or coercive measures should not replace political and diplomatic solutions.
The duo pledged closer multilateral coordination at the UN and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to strengthen collective efforts on West Asia peace.
Dar also met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, underscoring the shared priority both countries place on advancing peace and stability in West Asia.
The Foreign Office said the two leaders reaffirmed strong Pakistan–Türkiye ties and used their talks to take stock of regional developments, including the situation around Iran, against the backdrop of the ongoing West Asia conflict.
They emphasised the need for dialogue, de escalation, diplomacy and close coordination to prevent further escalation and to help establish a durable peace framework in the region.
