Berhampur: A 19-year-old Agniveer trainee was found hanging in his barracks at INS Chilka in Odisha, on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Kartik Yadav, a resident of Bhaumi village in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district. He had joined the Agniveer training program at INS Chilka on February 17.

According to preliminary reports, his body was found in Barrack No 7. It is being suspected to be a case of death by suicide, with sources indicating that the young trainee had been experiencing severe mental pressure in the days leading up to the incident.
However, officials at INS Chilka are yet to release an official statement or detailed information about the circumstances surrounding the death.
