Mumbai: Salman Khan may soon be joining hands with filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar for an ambitious new project.
According to recent reports, the duo is in talks for a grand two-part period drama that promises to be mounted on a massive scale.
While an official announcement is still awaited, the reported collaboration has already generated considerable excitement among fans eager to see Salman in a larger-than-life historical setting.
“Salman Khan and Farhan Akhtar have been meeting regularly over the last month and discussing a potential collaboration. Salman has loved what he has heard so far and has shown keen interest in the project. The talks are still at an early stage and have not yet reached the paperwork phase, but both sides are excited about the possibility of coming together for the first time,” a source was quoted as saying by Pinkvilla.
The source further added, “It is a massive period action drama mounted on a grand scale. The idea is to tell the story across 2 films.”
If all goes according to plan, the untitled period drama is expected to be Salman’s next project after his superhero comedy with Raj and DK.
Meanwhile, the actor recently grabbed attention at a special event marking 25 years of ‘Lagaan’, where he shared the stage with Aamir Khan. Sporting a sharp buzz cut and neatly trimmed stubble, Salman exuded a rugged yet polished charm.
Farhan, on the other hand, is now likely to begin shooting for RD Burman’s biopic.
“Neeraj Pandey has been developing the RD Burman biopic for a while now, and the writing work is progressing at a rapid pace. Farhan Akhtar is in talks to play the legendary composer and is extremely excited about the prospect of bringing Pancham Da’s journey to the big screen. If all goes according to plan, he will undergo extensive preparation to get into the skin of the character,” a source was quoted as saying by Pinkvilla.
