New Delhi: During a recent Instagram Live session, singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh reacted to questions about the Cockroach Janata Party’s (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak controversy, stating that he was unaware about it.
He urged fans to keep him away from political matters, stressing that he is not a politician.
“Bro, Jantar Mantar protest baare… (say something about the Jantar Mantar protest),” asked a fan.
Diljit replied, “What protest is this at Jantar Mantar. Bro, keep me away from these protests and all.”
“I am an artist. I am not a politician.”
“I don’t know what you think of me. See, everything cannot be put right. Jo protest kar rahe hain, unhe mubarakan, jinke layi protest hori, unhe vi mubarakan. (Whoever is protesting, congratulations to them. Whoever the protest is against, congratulations to them too). I have no idea what it is about,” he added.

Diljit had earlier made headlines in 2020 for supporting the farmers’ protests against the controversial farm laws, which were later repealed by the central government.
However, in May this year, the singer-actor made it clear that he has no plans to enter politics, dismissing a public appeal by a civil society group urging him to take the political plunge.
“My job is to entertain people. I’m very happy in my field. Thank you so much,” Diljit posted on X.
Since June 20, members of the CJP a satirical digital outfit, have been holding protests at Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak controversy.
On the work front, Diljit was most recently seen in Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’, set against the backdrop of Partition.
