Puri: A man was arrested for allegedly circulating fake appointment orders for various posts in the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Odisha’s Puri.
The accused has been identified as Biprasen Bhoi (46) of Balarampur Gada under the jurisdiction of Balanga police station in Puri district.
Police sources said the accused had circulated forged appointment letters claiming recruitment in the SJTA to mislead the public and create a false impression regarding employment opportunities.
After being taken into custody, the accused was produced before a local court. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the forged documents and to know whether other people were involved in the act.
The SJTA had lodged a complaint with the police after fake appointment orders for various posts in the Jagannath temple squad came to the fore a few days ago.
Acting on the complaint, Singhadwar police in Puri had registered a case under Sections 319(2), 318(4), 336(3) and 340(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched a probe that led to the arrest.
