Bhubaneswar: A search and rescue operation was launched on Friday after two individuals went missing while bathing in the Kuakhai River near Indrapala, under Balianta police limits on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred when the victims ventured into the river to take a bath. Due to elevated water levels and strong currents, both individuals were unexpectedly swept away by the water flow.
On being informed, teams from the local police and Odisha Fire Services rushed to the spot to initiate a search and rescue operation. Rescue personnel have deployed power boats to trace the missing individuals. A large crowd of local residents gathered at the bank as emergency teams continued searching the river stretch. As of the latest updates, rescue workers have not yet traced the missing persons.
