Mumbai: Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Kiara Advani are set to share screen space for the first time in an upcoming supernatural thriller.
The untitled project will reportedly mark writer-producer Kanika Dhillon’s directorial debut and is said to be backed by Excel Entertainment.
According to a Pinkvilla report, the project is currently in the development stage, with the script reportedly being written specifically with Saif and Kiara in mind.
The makers are said to be planning to begin shooting for the film later this year.
“Saif and Kiara are coming together for Kanika’s next. It is an intense thriller with a supernatural element, and the script is being developed keeping both actors in mind. Kanika, Excel Entertainment and the writing team have been working on this story for a very long time, and the makers are now looking to take it forward,” a source was quoted as saying by the portal.
Dhillon has worked on several Hindi films and is known for writing stories featuring strong characters and unique themes.
Her writing credits include Manmarziyaan, Kedarnath, Judgementall Hai Kya, Haseen Dillruba, Rashmi Rocket, Raksha Bandhan and Dunki.
She has also explored the thriller genre with Haseen Dillruba and its sequel Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, both of which combined relationship drama with mystery and suspense.
Apart from writing, Dhillon has also ventured into film production through her banner Kathha Pictures. She wrote and produced Do Patti, which was released on Netflix in 2024.
Meanwhile, Kiara is gearing up for the release of ‘Toxic’, which stars Yash in a dual role.
Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth will also be seen in pivotal roles in the film, which is scheduled to release worldwide on August 26, 2026.
Saif, meanwhile, will next be seen in Priyadarshan’s crime thriller ‘Haiwaan’, alongside Akshay Kumar, Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher.
