Vrindavan: In a distressing development, a follower and disciple of spiritual leader Sant Premanand Maharaj has died following a fatal fall from a building associated with his ashram in Vrindavan. Local law enforcement authorities are currently investigating the circumstances, keeping suicide as a primary line of inquiry.
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Deepak Lodhi, who went by the religious name Rasik Dulari Sharan. Originally a resident of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Lodhi met with the fatal accident after plunging from the fourth floor of the Guru Kripa Kunj Ashram, reported NDTV.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 10:30 AM on Friday. Lodhi sustained severe trauma to his head and multiple other regions of his body. Authorities also noted that his private parts were found severed.
Local police officials stated that they were alerted to the situation after the injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“Upon taking cognisance of the information, an immediate investigation was conducted,” a senior police officer detailed to reporters. “Evidence has been gathered from the scene, and his family members have been duly informed.” Forensic teams and local police inspected the premises as inquiries continue to determine the exact sequence of events leading up to the fall.
