Mumbai: Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon’s 1994 action thriller ‘Mohra’ is set to return to cinemas after 32 years, with the film scheduled for a re-release on November 6 during the Diwali season.
The re-release will coincide with the theatrical arrival of ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, which is slated to hit cinemas on November 5.
Originally released on July 1, 1994, ‘Mohra’ became one of the era’s notable action entertainers. Trimurti Films announced its return to theatres by unveiling a teaser on its official YouTube channel.
The description read, “In a deadly game of power and betrayal, everyone could be a pawn. Experience the twists, the thrills and the songs that made MOHRA unforgettable! Celebrate 32 years of MOHRA—in cinemas near you from 6th November 2026.”
The film follows Vishal Agnihotri (Suniel Shetty), a prisoner released with the help of journalist Roma Singh (Raveena Tandon).
He is later recruited by Jindal (Naseeruddin Shah) to target criminals, while Inspector Amar Saxena (Akshay Kumar) investigates a series of killings that gradually unravel a web of conspiracy and betrayal.
The film also featured Paresh Rawal, Gulshan Grover, Raza Murad, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Poonam Jhawer and Kulbhushan Kharbanda, along with Priya Tendulkar, Avtar Gill, Kunika Sadanand, Tej Sapru and Vishwajeet Pradhan in supporting roles.
Combining action, suspense, star power and hit music, ‘Mohra’ emerged as one of the biggest Hindi releases of 1994.
It finished the year as the second-highest-grossing Indian film, behind ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’, while its soundtrack reportedly sold more than eight million units.
