Jatni: Following alleged rape and murder of a minor at Mundia Sahi, Gopabandhu Nagar here, irate locals staged a road blockade near Jatni police station by burning tyres on Friday and sought stringent action against the culprit.
According to police sources, a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by her neighbour late on Thursday. Locals manged to catch hold of the accused soon after the incident and thrashed him black and blue. He was rescued by police and later admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, in a critical condition.
